The ZOMA Method
Individualized, trauma-informed, fascia-focused bodywork created through more than 17 years and 20,000+ hours of hands-on experience. Every session is shaped around the person on the table rather than a predetermined routine.
There comes a point when you stop wanting another massage and start wanting someone to truly understand what your body is doing.
Maybe it is the shoulder that keeps returning, the hip that never quite settles, the jaw you did not realize you were clenching, or simply the feeling that your body has been carrying too much for too long. Maybe your body has changed through pregnancy, birth, surgery, injury, work, stress, or a major chapter of life. Sometimes you cannot even explain exactly what feels off. You simply know you want to feel more comfortable, more open, and more at home inside yourself.
That is where the ZOMA Method begins.
A Conversation With the Body
At the center of the ZOMA Method is a simple idea: the body is always communicating, and the practitioner’s job is to listen.
I listen to what you tell me, but I also listen through touch. I notice your breathing, how the tissue responds beneath my hands, where the body softens, where it protects, and how one area seems to influence another as the session unfolds. Sometimes the place asking for attention is exactly where you expected. Other times the body leads us somewhere completely different.
A neck may lead toward the jaw or ribs. A hip may influence the way the whole body feels. Your feet may reveal something about how you are carrying yourself higher up. A surgical scar or an old injury may affect the way you move around an area long after the original event. Pregnancy and postpartum life can also change the way someone inhabits their body.
Clients often ask me, “How did you know to work there?”
After more than 17 years of professional bodywork and more than 20,000 hours of hands-on experience, listening has become the foundation of my work.
What Is Fascia?
Fascia is the connective-tissue network woven throughout the body. It surrounds and relates muscles, joints, nerves, vessels, organs, and other structures, helping the body function as an interconnected whole.
That is really all you need to understand.
Your jaw, ribs, diaphragm, pelvis, feet, breath, superficial tissues, and deeper structures do not exist as unrelated pieces. The ZOMA Method begins with that whole-body perspective.
Depending on what is appropriate for you, a session may draw from fascia-focused bodywork, myofascial techniques, deep tissue, trigger-point work, assisted stretching and movement, cupping, Gua Sha, lymphatic techniques, abdominal work, jaw and tongue work, psoas and hip work, prenatal and postnatal bodywork, post-surgical bodywork when appropriate, breathwork, sound, Reiki, energy work, or simply a pair of hands becoming very still and listening.
Those are tools.
The method is knowing which tool this particular person needs at this particular moment.
Trauma-Informed, Professional & Respectful
Being trauma-informed shapes the way I approach every person who gets on my table. It does not mean assuming that you have a trauma story that needs to be uncovered. It means respecting that every person arrives with different experiences, boundaries, sensitivities, preferences, and relationships to touch.
Your body remains yours throughout the entire session.
Communication matters. Consent matters. Pace matters. Privacy matters. I maintain high professional standards of draping, keeping the body comfortably covered and exposing only the area being worked on at that time. Your comfort, dignity, privacy, and sense of safety are part of the quality of the experience — not an afterthought.
There may be areas you do not want touched. There may be techniques you do not enjoy. You may want conversation, or you may want quiet. You may want strong physical work without any spiritual component whatsoever.
All of that is welcome.
This approach becomes especially important when the body is changing. Prenatal and postnatal sessions are adapted to the person and their stage of pregnancy or recovery. Post-surgical work is approached thoughtfully and, when appropriate, after clearance from the medical professional overseeing recovery.
Meeting You Where You Are
This is where much of the magic of the ZOMA Method lives.
You do not have to be spiritual. You do not have to understand energy work. You do not have to believe what I believe, and you do not have to arrive expecting some extraordinary emotional experience.
I meet you where you are.
I am a Reiki Master, I have trained in Native American energy-healing practices, and hands-on healing is also part of my family lineage. Sound, toning, breath, Reiki, and subtle energetic work may sometimes become part of a session when they feel appropriate and welcome. Nothing is imposed.
Some sessions are strong and highly physical. Some are deeply relaxing. Some become very quiet. Sometimes emotion appears naturally — perhaps tears, laughter, stillness, or simply a long breath that feels different from the ones before it.
I do not chase those moments or manufacture them. If they appear, I meet them.
And sometimes nothing dramatic happens at all. You simply get off the table feeling really, really good.
The goal is not to create a performance. It is to meet you honestly, listen carefully, and allow the session to become what it needs to become.
Ready to Experience the ZOMA Method?
You do not need to know which technique you need. Bring the body you have today. We can begin there.
What Does a ZOMA Session Feel Like?
No two sessions are exactly alike because no two people — and no two days in the same person — are exactly alike.
There may be moments of deep, focused work followed by long, integrating touch. An area may soften while I am working somewhere else entirely. Your breathing may deepen. Your posture may feel different when you stand. Something you stopped noticing years ago may suddenly feel like part of you again.
More than anything, I want you to feel met.
I am not interested in impressing someone by throwing every technique I know at them. I am interested in creating an experience that feels specific to the person in front of me.
And my clients have been describing that difference for years.
In Their Own Words
“Carlos is hands down the best bodyworker I've ever been to. He is intuitive and seems to know exactly what area to work on and in what order.”
“This isn't just some formulaic massage. Carlos gets in there, knows the anatomy, and has a gift of intuition.”
“One of the best massages I’ve had.”
Making Space for Better Days
The body carries experience. Work. Stress. Pregnancy. Birth. Surgery. Injuries. Movement. Stillness. Responsibility. Big chapters of life and all the quiet things in between. We adapt constantly, often without realizing how much we are carrying.
I do not approach the body like something that needs to be fought.
The ZOMA Method is about creating space — space to breathe, move, soften, and feel more comfortable inside yourself. Sometimes that means becoming familiar with a body that has changed. Sometimes it means allowing an old pattern to soften. Sometimes it simply means walking out lighter, clearer, and feeling like somebody turned the volume down on everything you had been carrying.
Sometimes you get off the table and feel like a million bucks.
To me, that is true inner beauty. Not forcing the outside to become something else, but feeling so much better inside yourself that it naturally shows.

The Method Created the Cream
ZOMA™ The Fascia Cream did not create the ZOMA Method. The method created the cream.
After thousands of hours working directly with bodies, I became interested in what could carry the feeling of intentional touch beyond the treatment room. I wanted something beautiful to work with, nourishing to the skin, with the glide, aroma, texture, and ritual that would make someone want to slow down and reconnect with their own body.
That became ZOMA™ The Fascia Cream.
Today, ZOMA™ The Fascia Cream is incorporated into the ZOMA Method experience. The cream supports the hands; the hands create the experience; and the ritual can continue at home.
Applying it after a shower can become more than skincare. It can become a small moment of attention: touching your legs, feet, abdomen, hips, shoulders, or arms, moving a little, breathing a little deeper, and simply noticing yourself.
The ZOMA Method and ZOMA™ The Fascia Cream come from the same philosophy:
The body is connected. The way we care for it should be too.
For Massage Therapists, Spas & Wellness Teams
The ZOMA Method is also for massage therapists who have reached the point in their career where they want something more than another sequence to memorize.
It is not about throwing away what you already know. It is about elevating it.
Learning to listen more closely. Becoming more responsive beneath your hands. Recognizing relationships instead of automatically following a routine. Knowing when a body welcomes depth and when it needs something quieter. Understanding how communication, trauma-informed practice, consent, professional draping, and the quality of touch become part of the experience itself.
Paired with ZOMA™ The Fascia Cream, the method becomes a complete fascia-informed bodywork experience.
For an independent massage therapist, it can help create a practice that feels more personal, elevated, and unmistakably their own. For a spa or resort, it can become a signature experience guests remember and request by name.
